SFL EDUCATES

Students For Liberty aims to educate young people about the philosophy of liberty. We do this in two ways: by helping young people learn about the principles of a free society, and by identifying those young people who are already supportive of liberty and providing them with resources to spread the ideas. This step is not about providing advanced education regarding the nuances of libertarian theory. Rather, we aim to provide a basic education to as many people as possible on the meaning of liberty and key values of classical liberalism.

Many of our educational programs, such as Liberty 101 and Econ 101, can be found at our SFL Academy website. We also regularly run Virtual Reading Groups (VRGs) on a wide range of topics, which have included: Black Studies & Classical Liberalism, The Socialist Calculation Debate, and Libertarian Feminism.

Content from past educational programs can be found in our constantly growing webinar archive, and SFL also holds other educational events such as the recent Deep Web screening in North America, and a colloquium series in South Asia. Our tabling literature provides students with introductory material to explore the ideas of liberty.

SFL events are another great way to learn about the ideas while getting to know fellow liberty advocates. Every region hosts it’s own yearly Regional Conferences (RCs) in addition to reading groups, colloquia, and Liberty Fund conferences for those interested in advanced topics in liberty. Every spring, we gather in full force for the International Students For Liberty Conference (ISFLC), traditionally held in Washington, DC. This year’s conference (our tenth anniversary!) will be the weekend of February 17-19th.
